Women’s Sport no longer the poor cousin of Men’s competitions

Women’s sport has come along way since the late 1800s when slowly but surely it made its way into curriculums for girl’s schools.

In those days, sports that didn’t rattle old school gender definitions were ‘encouraged’ by the Australian government.

Unlike today where Women compete in every sport where Men are fielded, think everything from UFC and boxing through to rugby and gridiron, one hundred years ago many (Men and Women alike) raised their collective eyebrows when considering that their Mothers and Daughters might actually risk injury or worse playing in certain gladiatorial contests.

Update about BLK’s Warehouse sale and last weekend’s cancellation

Following the news that BLK’s warehouse sale had to be rescheduled due to severe weather conditions in the Gold Coast, we can confirm that our massive sale will be held on June 11th and 12th.

The weather event was national news in Australia.

We have had some questions come in over social media:

Will this event be cancelled?

No, even if weather hits again we will still be open.

Will prices be changed?

No but there will be more stock on hand since we have further deliveries scheduled to come in this week, increasing our holdings to approximately $10 million (AUD).

However our sausage sizzle and cans of soft drink will now be only $1 and all proceeds will be donated to the RSPCA.

What was the discount, I see you have a 40% off EOYFS?

Prices for the warehouse sale will start at 60% off, with discontinued ranges up to 70% off.

All booked entertainment will be occurring this weekend.

Showtime FX rider Robbie Marshall, with nearly 30 years riding experience and international recognition (including stunt work on the multiple Academy Award winning Mad Max movie) will be performing two shows throughout the morning.

The entertainment will not end there, with a few members of the Gold Coast Titans (and Barry Hall) making an appearance on the Saturday, while on Sunday we shall be holding raffles throughout the day with $50 BLK Vouchers to be won!

Want to leave the kids somewhere while you check out our massive warehouse?

No problem, for BLK will have a bouncy castle if you can tear your kids away from our huge selection of stock.

Doors open at 7am on Saturday and 8am on Sunday.

BLK Sport looks forward to welcoming you through our doors.
