Kubota Spears sign with BLK for three years

Kubota Spears and BLK Sport are proud to announce a new three-year contract through to the 2019 season, which will see the Japanese team be part of the #beyondlimitsknown family to the next Rugby World Cup.

The agreement, revealed on April 14, 2016, continues the tradition of partnerships between BLK and Top League outfits.

The Funabashi based team (in the Chiba Prefecture) is coached by Super Rugby winning mentor and forward’s coach of Fiji at the 2015 Rugby World Cup Frans Ludeke, while local superstar Japanese Test regular Harumichi Tatekawa in their current squad.

The jersey will be officially revealed at the Kubota Rugby Festival On June 18.

“With the next Rugby World Cup in Japan, we are excited to welcome the Spears to the BLK family,” BLK Chief Executive Officer Tyron Brant.

“BLK now represents eleven countries globally via rugby union and we look forward to supporting Kubota’s efforts in the Top League and LIXIL Cup.”
